Are You Mastering Midlife?
So while I was getting my oldest daughter situated at her new college today, a cool thing happened. My friend and colleague Mark J. Silverman’s podcast launched: Mastering Midlife. And I got to be one of the first guests.
Of course, I want you to listen to my episodes – there are two of them, and they are packed with solid and practical information.
But I’d also like to suggest that you become a regular listener of this podcast. Mark covers so many important topics — from grief to suicide to power to relationships. And he’s only getting started.
This age and time in life comes with its own unique challenges. Just like puberty did. Just like starting a family and launching a career did. But so many of us are caught up in the anti-aging, 50-is-the-new-30 bullshit, that we aren’t willing to accept what we need, acknowledge what we bring, and claim what we want at this new time in our lives.
It’s time to stop hiding behind our fear of aging and running from our impending expiration date. There is so much wisdom, power and joy available to us. It’s time we claim and celebrate it — and confront the challenges along the way.
Mastering Midlife is an excellent place to start. You can find part 1 of the podcast here and part 2 here.
